Responsibilities
- Conducting initial legal analysis of any threatened litigation or disputes
- Reviewing and advising on legislative and regulatory developments
- Reviewing and drafting trust, corporate and legal documents
- Conducting regulatory audit and creating footprint for regulatory risk management
- Developing and maintaining the office’s precedent bank, ensuring that all precedents and standard documentation, including on-boarding documents, reflect current regulatory requirements
- Providing legal support to, and working closely with, the compliance department in developing strategic policies and approaches for identifying and mitigating risks, and legal and regulatory compliance
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of laws degree and legal education certificate
- At least five (5) years’ post-qualification experience
- Corporate secretary qualification would be an asset
- Working knowledge of Barbados legislation
